Portfolio

This portfolio brings together my oil pastel paintings and the candles they inspire, each shaped by a specific place in Tasmania.

Oil Pastel on Huon Pine

Painted directly onto Huon Pine, these works carry the character of the timber alongside the image. The grain, scent, and age of the wood remain visible, grounding each piece in place and material.

Oil and Ember Candles

Each candle first started as an oil pastel painting inspired by a specific place. The artwork shapes the scent, carrying colour, atmosphere and memory from the page into wax.

Oil Pastel on Paper

I work on paper when I want to paint a place or idea quickly. Paper allows for looser marks, quicker decisions and visible layering. Many of these pieces started by studying the colour, light and atmosphere of the reference landscape, and often become the starting point for candles.
